A recent research by BUPA (follow link for more information http://www.bupa.com/media-centre/press-releases/uk/leadership-smile) studied a group of 2000 UK employees regarding their view of how a healthy smile can change your prospects.
Two thirds (67%) of the UK employees consider a good smile to be 'an important asset' at work. A good smile was thought to give staff a sense of positive feelings and a higher chance of being promoted.
At the same time the study also showed that UK employees also worry that unhealthy teeth can reduce their job chances, also which can be affected are issues with performance at work, self confidence and interaction with co-employees. The study also revealed that almost two fifths (37%) believe that having bad teeth can harm an individual's employability and hold back a person's career progress.
Sadly a more than a quarter (28%) of employees try not to smile at work as they are not confident about their teeth. These employees also consider getting their teeth fixed to boost their self confidence at work.
